This program provides safe & supportive client centered community withdrawal management services that are readily accessible and culturally sensitive to the needs of Renfrew County residents.

Admission Criteria
Program participants must meet the following conditions:

• Be a resident of Renfrew or North Lanark Counties
• Voluntarily enter our program
• Be willing to stop using drugs or alcohol
• Be medically stable

Helping You Manage Withdrawal
Our program has the following benefits:

• Provides the client's family or support system with the knowledge and assistance to safely facilitate the withdrawal process
• Monitors withdrawal signs and symptoms
• Facilitates home visits or in office supportive counseling
• 24 hour telephone support
• Provides access to appropriate levels of care - Emergency Care, Medical Withdrawal Management or Residential Withdrawal Management services
• Reduces barriers to obtaining withdrawal management services
• Reduces risk of withdrawal complications

Breaking Through Barriers
The Renfrew County CWMS allows people to receive support withdrawing from alcohol and/or drugs in a safe environment.

This program directly benefits:

• Men or women responsible for children or elders in their home
• People with physical or mobility challenges
• Those without transportation
• People with social anxieties or other mental health issues (ie agoraphobia)
• Someone who has had negative experiences in Residential Withdrawal Management Services
• Renfrew County Residents with cultural sensitivities

How The Service Works
Clients may be referred to the Renfrew County C.W.M.S. program by all sources including::

• Self referral
• A family member or a friend
• Physicians, Nurses, Mental Health Workers
• Employer
• Staff of social agencies
